Using the Screen blend mode to neutralize blacks
- [Instructor] Previously we saw how the Multiply blend mode will neutralize whites. We're now going to see how the Screen blend mode will neutralize blacks. So I want to take these fireworks and composite them in the cityscape scene. I have them all selected, Command or Control + A, Command or Control + C to copy. And then move to the other image and paste them. Let's reposition them at the top of the frame and now change the blending mode to Screen. I'll dial down the opacity. Let's go to 80%. I'll also add a layer mask and paint on it with a gradient. Tap G to go to my gradient tool. Black is my foreground color. I'll swipe up from the bottom, just so that we slightly reduce their opacity the nearer the fireworks are to the ground. Now let's also create a reflection of the fireworks in the water. I'll duplicate that layer, Command or Control + J. Put a transformation rectangle around it, Command or Control + T.…
