Indexing with N1QL/SQL++
- [Instructor] In a modern world, everyone needs more speed and no one wants to be the developer of a good, but slow application. To that end, indexing becomes important. Indexing is one of the keys to ensuring your data can be reached quickly and results returned accurately. And just so we all know what we're discussing, we'll define an index as a data structure queries use to find records in a database faster. Who creates those indexes? You, the developer. And you create indexes by understanding the querying needs of a data set. Adding indexes creates more efficient paths to frequently search data. At Couchbase, indexes are required but if they help your users get the data they need faster and more accurately, why wouldn't you use them? Let's look at this in action in the Capella UI.
