- [Instructor] Now let's go ahead and take a look at the types of dashboard elements. There are two main types of dashboard elements, metrics and visuals and filters and interactivity. So in our prior two course sections, we took a look at building visualizations as well as filters and other types of interactive components. But some of the questions you might ask yourself about what types of metrics and visuals to embed in your dashboard are, what are the main metrics or KPIs the dashboard needs to track? What other metrics add context to compliment these? What chart type is appropriate to visualize each metric? So do we need a line chart to show trends over time, or do we just need a bar chart to show differences across categories? And in terms of filters and interactivity, we might need to ask the following questions, will users need to see specific filtered views? And will they need to drill up or down to different levels of granularity? So the answers we have to these questions…
