- [Instructor] Let's go ahead and apply an appearance to the background rectangle here. None of this is locked, so you can just go ahead and access that. It's got a gradient inside of it at the current time that we're going to do something else to it to add some texture. Now, the FX button, which does appear inside the appearance panel also appears here inside the properties panel. That's fine, and that's actually the place that I normally go to pick these things up. I normally work in the appearance panel just here down to the bottom and pick up my stuff from there. But just for now, to make it nice and easy to see we're going to go to the effect menu at the top of the screen and here you can see the last used effect just there. So we could apply that using a shortcut and we could apply it with different settings by using the thing underneath. So, that's handy to have. Just take a look at what we've got here. Now…
