Using filters and creating filter views
- [Instructor] I'll show you how to use the Filter feature in Google Sheets to hide data that you temporarily want to take out of view. Let's walk through enabling a filter in a Google Sheet spreadsheet. I'll show you how on the Sales spreadsheet. Start by selecting the range of data you'd like to filter on. I want to filter by item type, so I'll select the Item Type column. Next, select the Data menu and select Create a filter. You'll notice that the column and row labels where the filter can be applied are colored green to help show what cell ranges may have a filter applied. Also, you'll see a small inverted green triangle icon in the header row. This inverted triangle signifies that I can now apply a filter to this column. So, I'll click on that icon and it gives me a set of filtering options in the popup menu. From this dropdown menu that appears, I can uncheck data that I want to hide and put checks next to data that I want to show and keep in view. If I want to complete a bulk…
