Sorting and grouping a list
- [Instructor] I'll show you how to apply sorting criteria and grouping techniques to ServiceNow lists so you can organize your work better. Let's start with sorting a list. The easiest way to sort a list is by clicking on a column header. This will allow you to sort the data in ascending or descending order, which you can reverse by clicking again. You can apply sorting from the column options. Alternatively, you can select a filter icon and Add Sort. Here you can add as many sorting criteria as you want on any field and in the order you need. Let me start sorting my list of Incidents alphabetically by color and then by priority in ascending order. When I run it, you can see incidents are first sorted by color. The arrowhead next to the column header indicates that sorting is applied to this column and the direction of the sorting is ascending. Because I've applied two levels of sorting, wherever I find the same name, I can see a second level of sorting. In this case for priority…
