- [Instructor] AWS CloudShell is a browser-based shell that you can use to discover AWS Cloud Map resources directly from the command-line interface. To use AWS CloudShell, you must be an Administrator or a Developer Power User, or granted permission to use AWS CloudShell. In AWS CloudShell, development tools have been pre-installed for you to interact with your AWS resources, such as AWS Cloud Map namespaces, services, and registered instances. With AWS CloudShell, there is no need to authenticate, because you have been pre-authenticated with your login to the AWS Management Console. There's also no need to worry about any AWS fees or upfront minimums because there are none. AWS provides this web-based browser shell free of charge for you to manage your cloud resources. With the AWS web-based browser shell, you're given one gig of storage space for your home directory.
