Because while it's true that a missing semicolon in software can cause problems, the bigger and more common problem is in the wetware, the people who create, manage, and deploy websites. A great example of this occurred while I was writing this course. The Texas Department of Public Safety put out a missing child alert on one of the dolls from the horror movie franchise "Child's Play," naming his doll father, Chucky as the suspect. This really happened. The government agency apologized, and said it was the result of a test malfunction. It's not too hard to guess what probably happened.
