- [Instructor] Unnecessary spaces in Excel can be a huge problem. In this worksheet, it's over 700 rows. You can see some obvious spaces in column C. If we sort the data, not all the departments are going to come together properly because of those leading spaces. Now, there might be trailing spaces, they shouldn't cause a problem here, but even between the words, for example, in row five, Quality, looks like there are three spaces there, and then Assurance, that's going to cause problems if you have some IF functions, testing for the occurrence of this department or that department. We've also got formulas in column F, and the formula's pretty straightforward. I'll double-click cell F2. What are we doing here? Saying two things, if the entry in column E is Full Time and the entry in column J is greater than three.
