- [Narrator] Pivot tables can greatly help you analyze your sales data. Your boss might ask you this question, "How much did we sell in the second quarter of 2024?" We could use the filters, but let me show you something else. I will click on my pivot table right here, and in the pivot table analyze tab, I will select insert timeline. Excel will detect all of my fields that are set as a date, and if I select this sales date right here, check it, press okay, I have a beautiful timeline that pops up. I can then select my data if I press here on January 2024, it is going to filter my pivot table with this date. In this case, we don't have any data in January of 2024. Let's press Shift on my keyboard and click up to June of 2024. And there you go. Your data is filtered with all of these months. But the question of my boss was, "What are the sales in Q2 of 2024?" I could go there, select April, press Shift on my keyboard until June. That works, right? But we have a better option available…
