COUNTIF and SUMIF

- COUNTIF and SUMIF are two of the most useful tools in Excel, which an accountant should expect to use all the time. These summarize information and calculate totals, even when that information isn't well organized to begin with. COUNTIF looks at a range of cells and counts how many of them equal a certain value. that can be a static value, such as a number or a text string in quotes, but usually it's a cell reference, and it counts how many cells in the range are equal to the contents of the reference cell. The syntax of a COUNTIF Formula is equals, COUNTIF, open parenthesis, the range of cells you're looking at, comma, then the value you're looking for, close parenthesis.
