From the course: Designing Presentations with Figma Slides

Creating a Figma Slides project

- [Instructor] If you do not have access to a current Figma Slides deck, you'll need to create one before doing anything else. Let's create a new deck through the software interface. So here we are inside of Figma and I am in my recents here. Any recent files are going to show up around here based on the parameters chosen here. As you can see, we can create a new Figma design file, a new FigJam board, or a new slide deck from here. Note as well that I am in a personal team just called "Personal Projects", and I have a project called "H+ Sport" that I'm going to eventually move our slide deck into to stay organized. You don't have to take these steps, but I find that it's best to be organized and keep things out of drafts when I can. Alright, so let's click on new slide deck to create our new presentation. The first thing that comes up is a prompt that asks us to choose a template. There are a number of templates already created for different purposes that you'll find inside of this dialogue, or you can choose something very simple like light or dark and if you have your own templates created, they can be found here as well. I'm going to choose start from scratch, which gives us a basic light template and here it is. We have an initial slide inside of our deck and it's named "Untitled". So let's go ahead and click on the little arrow near there and choose rename from the menu that opens up. And I'm going to name this "Starter" optionally since this is currently inside of my drafts. To stay organized, I'll probably want to move it into a teams or organization and a project that lives within there. So to do that, you can click on that same arrow and find the move option. From here, you can choose a particular project from the team that you're currently in. So I've got one here, H+ Sport in Personal Projects, and I can click move. We can see now it's named "Starter" and it exists in the project H+ Sport, no longer in my drafts. Once a new Figma Slides deck has been created in this way, it can be accessed just like any other Figma document type.
