On the Healthdirect website patients and citizens can inform themselves about health issues. For example, if the user enters a symptom such as fever, then he will receive relevant health information. To ensure that the correct information is displayed, a knowledge base with a controlled vocabulary has been developed. This taxonomy contains all relevant information of the Australian health system, for example the classification of disease patterns which also can be displayed visually. This information is freely accessible on the internet so that all those involved in the health system can use the correct terms. In this example, the knowledge base is managed with a PoolParty tool.
