GX Cloud overview
For most of this course, we've been focusing on GxCore, the open source version of Gx. But I also want to take a moment to introduce you to GxCloud. GxCore is a great free option for handling data validation in your data pipelines. But one downside is that you have to manage all infrastructure yourself. Deploying GxCore in production usually means spinning up servers to run validations, storing expectation suites and results, hosting data docs, and wiring up alerting and monitoring on your own. GxCloud is the managed cloud-based version of Gx. It takes care of a lot of the operation overhead like hosting metadata, managing expectation suites, storing validation results, and providing a web interface for monitoring data quality over time. So instead of building and maintaining all of that infrastructure yourself, you just connect GxCloud to your existing pipelines and let it handle everything.
