The heavy object inches forward imperceptibly at first, but it gradually starts hurtling ahead with tremendous speed. You’re pushing no harder than when you started, but each rotation compounds on the last. This is called the “flywheel effect,” and it explains how small steps can compound and eventually lead to significant growth and impact.
