Conversation starters for constructive conflict

- One of the best ways to have a culture of constructive conflict is to have a script or a conversation starter. So this might be something like in the spirit of constructive challenge, may I say, or, I'd like to offer an alternative point of view, or even, to play the devil's advocate. You can have your own conversation starter and create your own rules of engagement for this, and you can even decide to say, here's a crazy idea, or any other combination of words that your team agrees is the right way to disagree with each other constructively. One reminder though, for the best possible collective intelligence at work, you will need to remind people in every meeting that they do need to feed back on each other's ideas constructively. So instead of saying, that's a terrible idea, or that will never work, or we tried that before, ask people to reframe their criticism into a constructive question such as, how can we make that more feasible? How can we make that different from last time?…
