- Checklists are one of the most basic yet powerful tools to create clarity, and they're often underutilized. A solid checklist serves as a diagnostic tool to uncover process gaps, missing steps, and misaligned perspectives. To help you strengthen collaboration, I've developed a set of questions you can use as your collaboration checklist. You'll find it in the exercise files, ready to guide your team. Here's your checklist. It covers things like, do we have a clearly stated goal? Do we have the right people on the team to achieve the goal? Do we have a plan for foreseeable barriers? And more like you see here. This checklist often reveals three types of gaps. One, unmet criteria where some items on the checklist aren't addressed. For instance, the most common issue isn't a lack of a facilitator, it's misalignment on the goal itself. Two, misalignment. This happens when team members answer checklist questions differently.
