- [Instructor] An architectural wall is the same as a structural wall. There's just a couple settings we need to tweak to set them as structural. The reason we would do this is for scheduling and using with other structural tools. Also, when we set our discipline to structural, if the structural usage of the wall isn't set for either structural or sheer, we won't see them. In this video, I'd like to take a plain old wall and turn it into a structural wall. Let's go to Revit. Let's go to New. For the Template File, let's use our Structural Templates. Let's click OK. Notice that we have Wall on the Architectural tab. If we go to the Structural tab, we also have Wall. Let's click Wall Structural. So what does that mean? It means that if we click Wall Structural, which is a Basic Wall Generic eight inch, notice that Structural is turned on by default. That's what makes is a Structural Wall.
