- [Instructor] Well, we just added a slab which is categorized as a foundation. Now, it's time to add a floor. See, what makes a floor so special is the fact that we can add decking and other elements that we cannot add to a foundation slab. So for this video, I'd like to model a floor with some concrete and some sweet decking. In Revit, under Projects, let's go New. Let's start with our Structural Template and then click OK. Let's go down to Level 1 just because on the Structure tab, click the Floor button. It starts off with three inch lightweight concrete on two inch metal deck. I just want to start from scratch, though. Let's go with Generic - 12". Click Edit Type. Let's Duplicate. Instead of Generic - 12" let's call it 6" Slab with Decking. Click OK.
