There are structural columns, the real ones, and architectural columns, the fake ones. I bring this up because you're going to have terrible visibility issues if you use the wrong one, the fake one, the architectural one. The objective of this video is to model both concrete, as well as steel columns. We'll also model a slanted column. Jump into Revit. Go to New. Let's go to Structural Template, click Okay. Let's go down to Level 1. I want to add some grids for this. We're going to look at grids in depth later, but I want to just add a couple to our model now. Go to the Structure tab. On the Structure tab, on the Datum panel, you'll find your grid icon. Click Grid. Pick a point from here to about here. Hit Escape a couple times, select your grid, click Show Bubble on the top, now we have the bubbles on top and the bottom. Select your grid, right click. Let's Create Similar.
