People oftentimes refer to operations as the backbone of the business, having process workflows, standard operating procedures. Those are the building blocks of the backbone, the back of the house, whereas front facing activities are more like marketing, sales. Those things are more front of the house, because those are things that people can see. When you incorporate processes, workflows into your business, those key components and structure that help the things that happen in the front of the house. If the back of the house is not built, the front of the house will not stand. So I look at having process workflows, standard operating procedures as like a house, brick by brick.
