Develop a visual framework

- Many people are visual learners. They learn more quickly with their eyes than their ears. So it's important to condense your big ideas into a striking visual or an eye-catching format. When I was in school, the very first visual framework I recall learning was Maslow's hierarchy of needs. You may remember it. It conveyed a very complex idea simply and memorably. When Chip Conley was writing a book about building one hotel into the second-largest boutique hotel chain in the world, he updated Maslow's hierarchy to create a much more detailed framework that showed the core principles that guided his actions every step of the way. This one visual representation also distilled a very complex story. You can download the exercise file to see a simple version of his framework.
