- [Instructor] Now let's talk about multi-factor authentication or MFA. Most of us already know about it as we have it turned on for many of our online accounts such as emails and bank accounts. MFA requires that users provide an additional form of identification during the sign-in process. This can be in the form of biometrics like a fingerprint scan, a one-time passcode sent via SMS or email, or a time-based code from an authenticator app. MFA is considered secure because the required information is not stored or duplicated unlike a password. MFA with Microsoft Entra works by requiring at least two or more of the following authentication methods. Something you know, this can be in the form of a password, something you have, this can be in the form of a phone or a hardware key, and something you are. This includes biometrics like your fingerprint or face scan. MFA supports many authentication methods including Microsoft Authenticator, SMS, voice call, FIDO2, or Fast Identity Online…
