- [Instructor] In this session, I'll walk you through the Step Functions Workflow Studio to help you get started with building your first state machine. Let's begin by typing step function on the search bar. Then click this to get to the Step Functions console. Now that we're here, click on this menu icon and choose state machines. Let's proceed by clicking the Create State Machine button. First, we have to choose an authoring method. This one is automatically selected for us, and I'm okay with designing my workflow visually. This way I don't have to bother writing in ASL. Then we'll have to decide if you want to use a standard or express. For the time being, we'll stick with standard, but if you're curious about the differences, you can see more details about them by clicking this. Let's click Next.
