I remember the first time I bought a computer to video edit while in university. It was one heck of a bulky machine with a whopping 512 KB of RAM and two gigabytes of storage space, a Mac G4, and it was absolutely gorgeous. And for that time fast, I believed it would bring the power of a Hollywood studio within the creative reach of a university student with big dreams and small pockets. It also helped make way for a guerrilla production revolution. At this time, little did I know the technical hurdles I would have to climb in order to master the craft of video editing, the thousands of hours of frustration and sleepless nights pulling my hair out to finish a piece or master a composite. Those late night scars are part of the reason why I sit in front of you here today. And now all that time learning those tasks and workflows, for the most part, has been replaced, automated, and to some degree made irrelevant by all the tools in this course.
