- There are over a dozen agile approaches, and hundreds and hundreds of agile practices and techniques that you, and your team, could use. So, where to begin could be a pretty big challenge for most starting out, but not for you. I'm going to help you make what I call the big choices. You see, when it comes right down to it, there are only two big decisions to make. Big decision number one is whether you want a flexible approach, or an inflexible, prescriptive approach. If you would prefer flexibility, one where you make choices based on your specific situation, disciplined agile is the leading choice. If you prefer a prescriptive approach that has a set of rules you follow and never, ever waver from, scrum is the leading choice. Big decision number two, using a timebox, or continuous flow.
