Getting started: ChatGPT and spreadsheets
Hey everyone, welcome to my new nano course on the top 15 ChatGPT tips for data analysis. I'm so excited to show you how ChatGPT can completely transform the way you work with data. Before we dive in, there are a few important things I need to mention. Throughout this course, I'll be using ChatGPT+, which is the paid version of ChatGPT. But don't worry, you can absolutely still follow along with the free version by going to chatgpt.com and creating an account. But there are some key differences you need to know. With ChatGPT+, you can upload, analyze, and edit Excel files directly, run calculations, create charts, clean datasets, and even generate new Excel files to download. You can upload up to 80 files every 3 hours and work with really large spreadsheets. Believe it or not, you can still upload, analyze, and edit Excel files directly on the free version, but it is much more limited. You can only upload 3 files per day, and it may struggle with really complex spreadsheets or larger datasets. You won't be able to do complex data analysis tasks like creating charts, creating Excel workbooks from scratch, or running large calculations, but it'll work just fine for simple analysis tasks. I recommend following along with this course with the free version if you do not have ChatGPT Plus and then at the end you can decide whether ChatGPT Plus is worth the upgrade for $20 a month. You can also follow along with the workbooks by downloading the exercise files below the video player and then opening the corresponding workbook. Keep in mind that ChatGPT is AI, so your results might look slightly different from mine. The logic and approach will be the same, but ChatGPT might phrase things or organize results in a slightly different way. That's totally normal. I also sped up the response times in this course for educational purposes, so your results will take a little bit longer as well. All right, let's get started with tip number one.
