Windows System Administrator

We are seeking a Windows Systems Administrator for a direct hire opportunity. This position is onsite.

About the Role

This role involves managing and maintaining server operating systems, virtualization platforms, and enterprise applications while ensuring system performance and security.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server operating systems, virtualization platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity; proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Perform system patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance to ensure security and reliability.
• Manage and verify backups; support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated and complex infrastructure issues across servers, storage, and cloud platforms.
• Administer Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, File servers, and Microsoft 365 services.
• Support Azure or other cloud platform administration including virtual machines, storage, and identity services.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and system configurations.
• Collaborate with network, security, and service desk teams to support enterprise IT operations.
• Lead or contribute to projects involving system implementations, migrations, and upgrades.
• Implement automation and scripting to improve operational efficiency.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to junior administrators and support staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4–7 years of related experience).

Required Skills

• Experience administering Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and enterprise infrastructure systems, including Microsoft 365; familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms; and experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions, along with a solid understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex technical issues.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft 365 Administrator (MS-102), Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or VMware Certified Technical Associate.
• Experience mentoring or coaching junior system administrators.
