Why join Currie & Brown:
At Currie & Brown, we deliver certainty in an uncertain world. As a leading global construction consultancy, we partner with clients on some of the most complex and high-profile projects across high-tech, pharmaceuticals, hospitality, government, education, commercial property, energy, and more.
We are confident, precise, and focused on unlocking value across the asset lifecycle. By joining our team, you’ll play a key role in driving sustainable, innovative solutions that transform the built environment.
About the role:
We are seeking a Project Lead to support a major data center program for a leading client, taking ownership of cost strategy, client engagement, and delivery oversight across multiple active sites.
This is a client-facing, field-integrated role with a hybrid working model, ideal for candidates based in Austin who can work from the Currie & Brown office while traveling to project sites across the DFW area several times per month.
You will work closely with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure cost, schedule, and scope are aligned, while supporting overall project delivery and performance.
You will play a critical role in providing real-time financial visibility, cost control, and decision-ready insights, while maintaining strong alignment with field activities and site execution.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead cost management efforts across multiple project sites, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and financial targets
- Manage and track project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Provide accurate and timely cost reporting, including variance analysis, cash flow projections, and earned value insights
- Review, validate, and manage change orders, ensuring proper documentation, cost justification, and client approval
- Identify cost risks and opportunities, providing proactive recommendations to mitigate impacts
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and field teams to ensure alignment across cost, schedule, and scope
- Maintain regular site presence, capturing observations on productivity, workflow efficiency, and overall task readiness
- Provide updates on progress against key project milestones, highlighting completed work, upcoming activities, and any deviations
- Identify and report bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or resource constraints, with recommendations to support execution
- Support weekly reporting on project progress, site conditions, and emerging risks across multiple sites
- Participate in client meetings, site meetings, and internal briefings, documenting key outcomes and follow-up actions
- Support procurement activities, including bid evaluations, scope alignment, and contract reviews
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, commercial procedures, and client expectations
- Maintain awareness of site safety performance, supporting a culture of safety and compliance
- Support development and continuous improvement of project controls processes, tools, and reporting dashboards
Requirements:
- Experience in cost management, quantity surveying, project controls, or project management within data center or complex construction environments
- Strong understanding of project financials, budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting
- Experience working in field-based or site-integrated roles, with the ability to connect field execution to cost and schedule
- Ability to travel to project sites in the DFW area several times per month
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to clients and stakeholders
Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, or a related field preferred
- 10–15 years of experience in construction cost management or project delivery
