A mission-driven, private higher education institution in Malibu is seeking a Manager of Network Engineering to lead and evolve its enterprise network infrastructure. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for guiding a team of network engineers while shaping the strategy, performance, and security of a large-scale, distributed network environment.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers
Set goals, drive performance, and foster a collaborative team culture
Promote accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
Network & Infrastructure Oversight
Oversee design, implementation, and support of enterprise network systems (1,000+ nodes)
Ensure reliability, security, and performance across all networking environments
Maintain documentation, policies, and operational standards
Strategic Planning & Projects
Define and execute the network engineering roadmap
Lead complex infrastructure projects from planning through implementation
Partner with stakeholders to align technology solutions with organizational needs
Operations & Vendor Management
Manage contracts, vendors, and service providers
Oversee monitoring tools, troubleshooting efforts, and incident resolution
Ensure timely completion of support requests and operational tasks
Collaboration & Communication
Build strong relationships across departments and with external partners
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Support a culture of professionalism, service, and integrity
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field
5–7+ years managing network engineering teams in enterprise or university environments
VoIP systems (Cisco Call Manager, Unity, Presence)
Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds or similar)
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and lead resolution efforts
Strong project management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years leading technical teams and large infrastructure initiatives
Cisco certifications (CCNP or CCIE)
Advanced knowledge of Cisco networking and wireless technologies
Experience with ITSM tools and processes

Salary: The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000.
