Junior Software Engineer

Role

Bill360 is a cloud-based fintech platform solving complex challenges in B2B payments, billing, and accounts receivable. We are seeking an Associate Software Engineer at both entry-level or mid-level to help build and scale our core platform.

This role is ideal for engineers who want to work on real-world systems and contribute to production-grade applications. You will be involved in developing backend services, APIs, and cloud-based solutions that power critical financial workflows. You’ll collaborate closely with senior engineers and architects to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performing systems.

This is an on-site opportunity in our Tampa, FL office. We are seeing candidates who are either local or willing to relocate

Essential Responsibilities

Hands-On Engineering & Delivery

• Build, test, and maintain backend services and APIs
• Contribute to production code across .NET-based services and cloud infrastructure
• Develop and support RESTful APIs (a key focus of this role)
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Assist in breaking down features into well-scoped deliverables
• Experience building AI Based Solutions

Systems & Architecture

• Work within API-first and microservices-based architectures
• Contribute to scalable, reliable, and high-performance system design
• Gain exposure to event-driven and serverless patterns in AWS
• Support integration of services across the platform

Data & Application Support

• Work with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) to support application functionality
• Write and optimize queries to support API performance
• Participate in data modeling and backend design decisions

Collaboration & Growth

• Partner with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver features
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of development practices

Our Technology Stack

You’ll work with and gain exposure to:

• Backend: C#, .NET Core / .NET
• Cloud: AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, etc.)
• Architecture: Microservices, API-first design, serverless patterns
• Data: SQL and NoSQL databases
• Frontend (optional exposure): JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js or Angular)
• DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring

Qualifications (Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Entry-Level (0–3 years)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong programming fundamentals (C#, Python, or Node.js exposure preferred)
• Understanding of basic backend development concepts
• Exposure to APIs and database fundamentals
• Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn

Mid-Level (3–5 years)

• Solid experience with C# and .NET
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining APIs (required)
• Experience working in AWS, preferably in serverless environments
• Strong understanding of backend systems and application architecture
• Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases

Nice to Have

• Experience with Node.js or Python
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (Vue.js or Angular)
• Experience in fintech, payments, or financial systems
• Experience working in distributed or microservices environments
