Junior Software Developer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Developer to assist in both maintaining our current technology platform and supporting the transition toward a modern architecture. This role focuses on hands-on development, learning core concepts, and contributing to system stability, working in a results-oriented culture that rewards quality and initiative.

In this role, you'll assist with feature development, contribute to backend and frontend tasks, help monitor live systems, and apply best practices under guidance. You will gain experience working within a legacy LAMP environment while learning technologies like Symfony, PostgreSQL, and Vue.

Key Responsibilities

• Application & Feature Development
• Develop, test, and maintain application features under guidance.
• Assist with the integration of system components and services.
• Monitoring & Issue Resolution
• Monitor application metrics and assist in resolving performance bottlenecks.
• Help debug and fix production issues caused by data, third parties, or system constraints.
• Code Quality & Learning
• Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and ensure code quality.
• Apply learned programming concepts and principles.
• Platform Transition Support
• Support the migration of platform components to new Symfony and Vue frameworks.
• Assist in redesign and rearchitecture initiatives focused on performance and reliability.

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, related field, or comparable experience.

Required Technical Experience

• 1 year experience with PHP
• 1 year experience with MySQL
• Experience with Linux
• Experience with Apache / Nginx

Core Skills

• Basic understanding of relational databases (MySQL).
• Proficiency with version control, preferably Git.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Symfony or Laravel
• Experience with common design patterns (MVC, MVVM)
• Familiarity with core programming concepts like DRY, SOLID, and OOP
• Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks/tools like Vue and TypeScript
