Base pay range

$55,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr

Job Title: Content Technologist

Location: Remote, U.S. (EST time zone preferred)

Reports to: Senior Director, Learning Implementation, Content Technologies Group


Role Overview

The Content Technologist is responsible for technical administration and management of the CareerStep Learning platform. This critical role ensures seamless operation for thousands of learners.


Key Responsibilities

You will serve as a key internal support resource, troubleshooting learner and support team concerns related to Canvas and Cengage course content, and resolving issues with Catalog pathways such as completion recognition and program sequencing.


Coordinate and manage large-scale administrative projects, including creating project documentation and maintaining records for blueprints, course versions, enrollment codes, and catalog pathways.


Provide hands-on systems administration for the Canvas LMS, Catalog, and supporting learning platforms (SIS, Badging, etc.). This includes managing account settings, permissions, learner progress reporting, and configuring LTI tools and apps within the Canvas ecosystem.


Required Experience & Skills

  • College degree in a relevant field such as IT, educational technology, or computer science.
  • Experience with LMS administration utilizing Canvas, Catalog, and SIS technologies.
  • Experience with using and applying knowledge of SCORM, CSS, JS, and HTML technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex Canvas problems.
  • Hands-on experience with LTI tool integrations, and with Cengage (MindTap, WebAssign) services.
  • Strong project management, organization, and attention to detail, as one error can affect 10,000 learners.
  • A strong written communication style and ability to work as an independent contributor.
