This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System, in a department that provides shared services to operations across UNC Health Care; except that, if you are currently a UNCHCS State employee already working in a designated shared services department, you may remain a UNCHCS State employee if selected for this job.

Description Of Job Responsibilities
Responsible for serving as an engaged representative of the Internal Communications team and the larger Communications & Marketing team by:
- Implementing communications strategies related to goals and priority projects.
- Developing strong, supportive relationships with teammates and leaders.
- Providing quick assistance and engagement to highlight our successes, respond to issues and be prepared to respond appropriately in times of crisis.
- Partnering with project owners across UNC Health to help ensure quality and consistency of internal-facing content.
- Providing support and management of the UNC Health intranet sites.
- Supporting intranet users in maintaining current and user-friendly pages, helping to improve sections of the intranet, or delivering new tools or education using the intranet.
- Creating, managing and distributing timely, relevant and engaging content delivered through newsletters, intranet articles, digital signage, screen savers, and more.
- Working closely with Internal Communications teammates to ensure important or timely information is shared appropriately across UNC Health audiences and locations.
- Developing an understanding of the organization and needs of our teammates. Applying that knowledge when thinking creatively to problem-solve or devise new communications strategies to achieve communications goals.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of new media technologies and trends required.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with a particular focus on writing for the web and/or intranet required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Excellent organizational and project coordination skills required.
- Demonstrate problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with content management systems, HTML, and print and image editing preferred.
- Familiarity with SharePoint and Adobe tools preferred.
Other information:
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, Science or related field.
- No licensure or certification required.
- Three (3) year of experience in communications, public relations, marketing or related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong customer service skills.
