Organization description:
Great Kids® Inc. (GK®) is an international non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to developing products and training for programs serving families with children.
GK is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, responsible for leadership, financial oversight, planning, representation, and general support. Board Members have professional backgrounds which include leadership, organizational management, consensus building, and strategic planning while being strong communicators and problem solvers. Ideally, they also have national-level experience.
GK has Board Member vacancies for candidates with 10+ years of expertise in:
• Child and Adolescent Research/Academia
• Child Welfare Leadership
• Child and Adolescent Health
Board Member roles/responsibilities include:
• Attend meetings including the annual in person (typically October)
• Participate in one committee
• Offer management and Board perspectives regarding emerging business issues
• Provide informal, professional consultation related to personal expertise
• Facilitate professional connections aimed at business development, fundraising or expanding impact
There are five virtual Board meetings per year plus one annual in-person meeting. On biennial years, there may be a second in-person meeting. Travel expenses are compensated. The time commitment is approximately two hours per month with 2-3 days around an in-person.
Applicants must provide a cover letter defining interest in GK and a recent resume or CV. Selected applicants will be required to complete a background check.
