ACH payments for B2B just launched on Shopify!! Denis Dyli is celebrating this as a breakthrough moment. (And yes you should!) But still .... I wonder and ponder and think. Magento had this in 2008. Nearly 17 years ago. Purchase orders? Check authorization workflows? Net payment terms? These weren't innovative features back then. They were baseline requirements for B2B commerce. So the question keeps nagging at me: Is Shopify always playing catch-up on fundamentals? They've built an incredible SMB platform. Nobody questions that dominance. But B2B isn't just adding a wholesale price and calling it a day. B2B buyers expect: → Credit terms management → Multi-level approval workflows → Account-based payment methods → Complex pricing structures → Quote-to-order processes These requirements existed before smartphones. Yet we're celebrating their arrival on a platform in 2025 like they're revolutionary. How many other "fundamental B2B requirements" are still missing? Maybe I'm being too harsh. Shopify moves fast and ships constantly. Their B2B evolution is happening in public, and at least they're transparent about the roadmap. But when established platforms solved these problems 15+ years ago, should we really be celebrating basic feature parity as innovation? What am I missing? Are ACH payments and purchase orders actually harder to implement than I think? Or is this just proof that B2B requirements never get the respect they deserve until merchants revolt? Would love to hear from folks running B2B on Shopify right now. What other "fundamental features" are you still waiting for?

“To increase AOV, we need more products.” Wrong! AOV doesn’t scale because you release more SKUs. AOV scales because you increase the value per visit. AOV can double without adding a single product if you upgrade the monetization system: - Bundles designed to make the “smart choice” a higher cart - Personalized recommendations based on browsing behavior - A shipping threshold or timed gift incentive - “Good / Better / Best” pricing tiers (middle offer usually wins) - 1-click post-purchase upsells - at peak buying intent You don’t need more manufacturing. The “Volume vs Value” dilemma every marketer faces 👇 We ALL want high volume AND high value while paying below market rates (but that’s not realistic). Organic publishers like NerdWallet might give you 200-250 first-trade accounts/mo. That's not massive volume, but it's consistent, high-intent traffic. People actively searching "how to buy Bitcoin" will have higher deposit amounts. In-app placements provide volume. Users might be making $55-70k using a low-fee neobank. Initial deposits won't be as high, but everyone starts somewhere. That $60k earner today might be making $110k in five years. The trick to overcoming the volume vs. value dilemma is taking a portfolio approach: • High-value organic placements for quality • In-app placements for volume • Paid media for scale Build a portfolio of small bets.

Agencies are crushing it with Claude Code: Small agency owner. 34 active vendor and client contracts in a Google Drive folder. No idea which ones auto-renewed, which had rate escalation clauses, or which were expiring in the next 90 days. He opened Claude Code. Said: "Read every contract in this folder. Build me a spreadsheet with key dates, renewal terms, termination notice periods, and anything that costs me money if I miss it." Went to pick up his kid from school. Came back to a CSV with every contract parsed. Renewal dates, notice windows, rate increase triggers, liability caps. Color-coded by urgency. Three contracts were auto-renewing within 30 days. One had a 60-day termination notice window that had already passed. He was locked in for another year on a tool he'd stopped using. It also flagged two contracts with conflicting non-compete language that could cause problems if he took on a new client in the same vertical. He didn't ask about that. No paralegal. No contract management SaaS. One sentence while he drove to school. He cancelled the unused tool before the next renewal and saved $14K.
