It was a privilege to participate on the Education & AI panel at the Utah AI Summit this week. In 2019, there was great collaboration in Utah between the private and public sectors to create momentum with Computer Science education in schools. We are at a similar juncture today as we expand Computer Science education to include AI Literacy and AI skills. An emphasis on Pro-Human AI requires that students and educators be at the forefront of our minds regarding policy decisions and resource allocation. #utahaisummit #prohumanAI #ailiteracy

📊 Strong Results with FOSS in LA Unified School District (LAUSD) From 2022–2025, FOSS schools scored 5 percentage points higher on average in “meets and exceeds” on the Grade 5 California Science Test (CAST) compared to LAUSD overall. In 2025 alone, FOSS schools outperformed non-FOSS LAUSD schools by nearly 7%. LAUSD has adopted two science programs—FOSS and Amplify. Results shown are based on public assessment data.

I’ve spent over 20 years in edtech with a consistent mission: helping others solve problems, make progress, and reach goals. Today, that mission hits a major milestone. I’m proud to share that the Utah State Board of Education has selected #YouScience to deliver the statewide First Credential Career Mapping Tool. https://lnkd.in/e7bt_ukv For the last six months, my team has been deep in the research, design, and development of a new CCR Planner offering within our platform, YouScience Brightpath. When we saw Utah’s vision for HB 260, it was clear that what we were building was the "accelerator" they needed to turn this policy into a reality for both students and the educators who support them.
