BTC Surges to New Historical High of $123,000 BTC has recently surged to a new high after consolidating from January to May this year, boosted by the flushing out of short-seller positions. Judging from its relation to the rate of change in global money supply, there’s more to go before the blow-off peaks.   BTC has historically responded to accelerating global M2, but with a noticeable lag. The effect of accelerating global M2 momentum is more like a “trickle down” effect, as liquidity first flows into bonds, equities and gold, then overflows into BTC. Temporary HOLDR selling also seems to have temporarily dampened BTC’s momentum vis-à-vis global M2. Past turning points indicate it takes a while for BTC momentum to catch up with global M2 momentum, while peaking when global M2 momentum peaks.
