“Toby is a hard working and experienced software engineer whom is eager to learn and implement great products. Over the years of working with Toby, his skills have expanded exponentially and I believe this has a lot to do with how driven Toby is. No task is too large or too small for Toby to own. I always had the faith that I could give him a project, new or legacy, and he would achieve a well designed, developed, and deployed production ready product. Toby also has great leadership skills and was able to help manage portions of the team and guide them to a successful output. He always had time for more Junior engineers to answer questions or lead them to the expected output for the betterment of the company. He helped implement new tools and mechanisms to help ensure efficiency in outputs from our team. In order to do this, an engineer needs to have great communication skills, which sometimes is hard to find in engineers, and Toby excelled at this. I felt very confident in bringing him into meetings with a large range of people, from product designers to our CFO, and I always knew he would bring a wealth of knowledge to every conversation/process. All in all, any company would be lucky to have Toby on their team. He will bring consistency and responsibility to your software development team from design all the way through production and maintenance. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Toby and know he will make a contribution anywhere he goes.”

In the military you don't get to choose your team. Nobody get's fired. You eat, sleep, shit, shower and shave with the same people day in and day out. You have no choice but to trust the guy you're in the trenches with. This quickly teaches you that everyone is a great teammate, doesn't matter where they come from, or what their culture is. Everyone can be a great teammate when you're both working together towards a common and noble goal. I truly believe the same holds true in the civilian world and I aspire to make my brother and sisters in arms proud that I hold true to that principle in my role as a Software Engineer every day.
Teamwork makes the dream work.
