Sustainable Change Alliance (SCA) presented a program on February 19, 2026 regarding the 5 Rs of Sustainability - Redesign, Reduce, Reuse, Repair and Recycle.  Celine Lightfoot, Co-Founder and CTO of Beni, explained how that platform can increase the velocity of secondhand clothing. Kezi Cheng, CEO of FLO Materials, highlighted her firm’s new performance plastics which can build sustainability into products in varied fields such as eyeglass frames, footwear, and microprocessors.  A full, energized audience came together to hear from two inspiring entrepreneurs—and from one another—about how Santa Barbara startups can build companies that serve both consumer and industrial markets while tackling critical social and environmental challenges.
