  • How This Brand Made You Feel You Needed Something You Already Have

    Huffington Post

You have to love a good brand story: You know the one where a simple guy creates a brand and overnight he's a multimillionaire? Well, at least that's how we outsiders saw it. In 2011, Mark Levine and Michael Dubin created the brand, Dollar Shave Club. Today, a mere 3 years later, they've sold 60 million dollars worth of product. Mainly razors. So it's natural to ask: How does a company selling what every household person already has achieve such vast and utter success

  • Lay Down Your Crown: How to Find Humility in Leadership

    Huffington Post

Why do we become entrepreneurs? Is it because we know that when we work for ourselves we have the ability to make as much money as we want? Is it because we are leaders and we want to be our own boss? Is it to have full control on how we desire to live our lives, according to no body's rules but ours?

  • Journey to the Other Side

    Huffington Post

After a grueling 20 hours of travel and two days of no sleep, most of which was spent in an oversized sardine can high in the sky, finally I arrived. Coming from -15 degrees Celsius to a +30 degrees tropical climate, it was easy to notice my stark white, almost translucent skin as I stepped off the fishing boat, the last element of transportation. It was as if I traveled through the time and space continuum; there I was in the future. 48 hours from when I left, I had entered into a completely…

Coming from -15 degrees Celsius to a +30 degrees tropical climate, it was easy to notice my stark white, almost translucent skin as I stepped off the fishing boat, the last element of transportation. It was as if I traveled through the time and space continuum; there I was in the future. 48 hours from when I left, I had entered into a completely different dimension of reality. Often, I imagined what heaven would be like and little did I know, its location was just on the other side of the earth, in a place far, far away known to the world as Fiji.

  • The Hard Truth About Being Addicted to Social Media

    Huffington Post

I moved to LA for many reasons, one of them being that I wanted to have a more enriched and fulfilling life. My excuse for being addicted to television and internet in Toronto was because of the weather. That during the summer my "addiction" was limited because I could actually go outside and enjoy myself. Fast-forward a year and here I am with hours upon hours a day on various social media platforms and in front of the soul sucking television.

  • You are not your target audience

    Huffington Post

If there is one thing you can learn about marketing, it's that just because you create a service or product, and it came from your vision this does not mean that you are your target audience.

Knowing who you are marketing to is CRUCIAL to your business's success. What you may perceive as innovative and cool, or what you may respond to in terms of communication may never be what resonates with your potential clients or buyers.

  • Five Strategies to Spring Clean Your Business

    Huffington Post

Many businesses face transitions, and sometimes it is hard to embody change. But as with everything else in life, change happens constantly, and when we embrace it we end up realizing that it is likely for the better. Employees come and go. People we have learned to trust eventually move on, whether it be for a new career, a higher paying job, or a new city. Perhaps you lose that long term client you have relied on as a major source of income, or you end a partnership that hasn't been as…

People we have learned to trust eventually move on, whether it be for a new career, a higher paying job, or a new city. Perhaps you lose that long term client you have relied on as a major source of income, or you end a partnership that hasn't been as fulfilling as you would have liked it to be. As business owners we often feel alone, like we are the only ones who really care about that idea we had way back, when it was just a twinkle in your eye. It can get lonely at the top of the ladder!

  • 5 Reasons Video is Essential to Your Bottom Line

    Huffington Post

Having a video these days is key to expanding your brand and increasing client retention. Just think of what you prefer when you land on a site -- how many videos do you watch that have been shared by your friends. What videos have you seen go viral in the past that have really left a strong impression? And when you land on a website and want to learn more about a service, what would you prefer to do, watch a 1 minute video or read pages of copy? In an August 2010 report from comScore…

  • Is There a Wrong Way to MANIFEST?

    Huffington Post

Visualize what you want and you will get it. How many times has this happened to you? And how many times has it not happened? You wonder why it doesn't work, you close your eyes and focus until you are cross-eyed and yet the outcome is still not what you had hoped. So now what? How does that make you feel? What thoughts come into your head? "This manifestation stuff is crap." "I'm not doing it right because I had one negative thought that one time, that messed it all up." "Why isn't it…

Danielle Nicholas Bryk understands that home is where life happens…and life can be messy. Even as the mother of a rambling brood of kids and dogs, a career woman and a wife, she proves daily that it can all be done with style.

Over the past 17 years, she has divided her time between nurturing her family and transforming multiple houses into chic, stylish, but always functional homes. Word spread quickly and in 2011 she got picked up by the W Network to star in her own show “Building Bryks.” Danielle found her calling and as her clientele grew so did her media exposure. Her brand and reputation as an interior artist are quickly becoming a household name. Much like her personality, Danielle’s designs are inspiring, intuitive and deeply soulful. She is influenced by her urban living in New York City and draws from the very best global cultures. She holds a deep respect for the timeless principals of classic architecture, while incorporating modern, clean lines into her works. There is beauty and elegance in simplicity and Danielle never tires of swimming upstream in pursuit of it. The use of natural materials and the application of the principals of minimalism allow Danielle to create spaces that embody warmth, and at the same time, efficiency. Danielle carefully considers the needs of her select clientele while designing spaces that are functional, but that embody her passion for a well-lived life. Her spaces inspire her clients to live the life of their dreams.

Danielle is a true modern Renaissance woman, with rare talents that have elevated her to the top strata of her field. Danielle’s love of renovating began at a very young age, as she watched her own mother single-handedly transform their family home.

Keen on being more than an education, TanenbaumCHAT was driven to create a total experience that would help shape each student’s understanding of themselves and the world around them.

For the past two years U2R1 has been working with TanenbaumCHAT on their brand and marketing initiatives. Taking the time to research and understand the client’s objectives and goals for recruitment, we began by rebranding the school in its 50th year to create a new and vibrant look and feel that helped TanenbaumCHAT look forward whilst still remaining true to their reputable past. This new look was integrated into the “I AM TanenbaumCHAT” campaign, which shortly after, became appropriated into the brand’s core elements and was delivered through print ads, online videos, recruitment packaging, and a city-wide bus shelter campaign.
