Grateful to the Pittsburgh Technology Council & Fortyx80 for convening a powerful discussion on AI Innovation Strategy: From Pilot to Impact, alongside my co-panelists Supreet Singh, Heiko Will, and Bob Taylor, P.E., expertly moderated by Steven Wray. It was a true privilege to contribute to the conversation. One question framed the future-facing debate: As AI moves into core business operations, how do we accelerate innovation without compromising governance and trust? While the discussion was expansive, the conclusion is simple: In banking, speed and responsibility are not opposing forces, they are twin mandates. The organizations gaining real advantage are those that architect governance into the AI lifecycle itself: centralized AI intake, structured risk tiering, well-defined guardrails, disciplined production deployment, and clear, measurable outcomes.
