IDB Invest hosted the final Green Buildings Workshop in Jamaica bringing together key players including architechts, engineers, developers, banks, investors to provide training on sustainable finance innovation and sustainability certifications with SUMAC. Brian Bernal and Heather Pinnock announced the launch of a local #GreenBuildingCouncil to continue the work toward a low-carbon and resilient built environment that is more cost-effective and safe in the face of hurricanes, heat, and flooding. As we move into 2026, Evrensel Global Water Solutions (EGWS/ www.egwsl.com), a member of the Evrensel Impact Group, will continue to work with (an increasing number of) African Governments seeking to assist them in addressing and resolving their "water issues"! Often led by an AI water management feasibility study, which optimizes solutions, including for existing water infrastructure, EGWS looks to deliver/implement efficient and (cost) effective "total solutions" via our official partnerships with companies/ cutting edge technologies including atmospheric water generation, decontamination, desalination, conservation, waste water treatment-- whatever it takes! Understanding the importance of accessing funding for such critical projects, we have the capability to advise on, and arrange, project finance. Indeed,we are continuously looking to identify ever more creative ways to provide funding particularly via capital enhancement programs. We are also able to work with African Government clients to unlock funding from the likes of the World Bank..Project lenders/investors take great comfort from our "risk mitigation" process. Simply put, we do not take on projects/allocate valuable resources unless our highly experienced industry specialists are very confident that the project in question has a very high probability of success to which our initimate involvement is most likely to contribute. Another key factor for a successful outcome is having a strong and well connected local partner. Such is currently the case in Mozambique, Botswana, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Our ability to deliver the AI water management driven feasibility study will assuredly facilitate discussions with other Governments in the months to come. Finally (at least for now!), water/energy and agriculture are frequently referred to in the same breath. The interlinkage is self evident! With Evrensel Global Energy and Evrensel Green Resources also being part of EIG, we are in the very fortunate position of being able to discuss and deliver the full package.
