I look forward to participating in the International Society for Performance Improvement 2026 Conference in Nashville. On March 31 (4:30–5:15 PM CT), I will present a session titled “How to Use AI to Link Learning to Business Results.” In addition, on April 1 (8:30–10:00 AM CT), I will host a seven-person Global Panel on AI and Performance Improvement, bringing together experts from several countries to explore the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and organizational performance. I am particularly excited to engage with colleagues and friends from around the world to discuss how the GPS-IE Management System offers a systematic way to connect strategy, learning, and execution. My latest Substack post examines the role of independent thought in leadership strategy. https://lnkd.in/egYnxZUc. The post presents the concept that true leadership is a balance between independence and conformity, particularly in uncertain environments where many individuals prefer to avoid conflict and settle for mediocrity. The real opportunities for change occur during periods of uncertainty when traditional barriers to change are eroded or disappear. Uncertainty is becoming a permanent part of contemporary society, and leaders need to develop the courage to navigate it. They should not rely on conformity to instill confidence in their teams. The post illustrates the importance of independent thought and action by examining some of the innovations created by the faculty and staff of a new pharmacy school.
