Giving voice to digitally literate! Excited to see the application breaking the language barrier and providing a means to those who can’t use digital devices reach out to govt and vice-versa. It’s a dream come true when one year of hard work done by our team with able partnership of Bhashini, MuSigma and Anode Labs led to launch of hashtag#ASHA – Anna Sahayata Holistic AI Solution launch, a game-changer for the Public Distribution System (PDS) built on UCEP (Unified Citizen Engagement Platform) developed by Wadhwani Foundation as a DPI. This is impact in action. The Platform is empowering beneficiaries to report on entitlement, food quality, and issues, ensuring their voices drive accountability and transparency in real-time. AI + Local Language = True Citizen Empowerment. This AI-powered platform has been built using generative AI and hosted on IndiaAI infrastructure. It utilizes BHASHINI for speech to text and text to speech whereas intent of the caller is deciphered by the engine developed by team ably led by Manish Kumar. At this stage it is being used by the department to call up ration card holders to take their feedback on PDS ration taken. In case of any negative feedback, it converts the same into a grievance which gets shared with smartPDS system to send it to relevant district officers to redress the same. It will soon be used to enable citizens to seek information, lodge grievances and seek status of their application, all in their own language.
