This is a huge update that anyone who cares about workload identity or agentic security should be paying attention to. Kong Mesh is the first and only service mesh to natively act as a SPIFFE identity issuer, to interoperate with an existing SPIRE deployment, or to federate between two. This vastly improves interoperability in hybrid and multi mesh deployments. Great work Kuma team! We'll be sharing more about how this can help solve for modern enterprise security challenges in a future post.

I've had some fascinating, high-density conversations with industry friends lately. It's a real pleasure to connect with sharp minds and piece together the foundational shifts happening just beneath the surface. One of the key themes we explored was the evolution of growth marketing. For the last decade, SEO and paid ads have been essential pillars of any successful strategy. While they remain crucial, a third pillar is rapidly emerging with equal importance: 💥 AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) 💥 . Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) optimizes content for AI search engines rather than traditional search rankings. It focuses on being cited by LLMs through structured, authoritative information and clear answers. As users shift to AI-powered search, AEO represents the next evolution beyond traditional SEO strategies. Its playbook is being written in real-time, and key ambiguities remain: ✈️ The Rules: Who defines them? For now, the "rules" are a black box, dictated by the AI platforms themselves. There's a space for optimization through things like structured data, but it's based on reverse-engineering, not a clear standard. 💡 Attribution: How do you measure the ROI of a "zero-click" answer? This is a massive attribution challenge that we, as an industry, have yet to solve. 💬 Monetization: While there isn’t a direct "pay-to-be-the-answer" model yet, the commercial implications of being the a default source for an AI are enormous. This uncertainty forces a strategic shift. Some value of a website is evolving from a "destination" to a trusted "data source" for AI. The future isn't just about building sites for human visitors, but about providing high-fidelity, AEO-optimized APIs for AI agents. The paradigm of growth is shifting. The old war for traffic is being replaced by a more complex contest for influence. Winning now depends on establishing your brand as an authoritative source of information, building the kind of deep reliability that makes you a go-to for AI-driven answers, and transforming your product into an intelligent experience that acts as a proactive partner to the user.

Really excited about RecVue’s acquisition of AIVidens. In this industry, acquisitions can sometimes create bifurcated platforms and unnecessary engineering complexity when there isn’t a clear path toward unification.
