Here's why this matters: the $250K-$500K revenue range has always been a dead zone. Too small for most traditional lenders, too big for most grant programs. These business owners end up at MCAs paying 40-80% effective APR because nobody else will talk to them. An SBA microloan at 8-13% on $30K-$50K is a completely different cost of capital. On a $40K loan, you're paying $3,200-$5,200 in annual interest instead of $16,000-$32,000 with an MCA. The catch: microloans still require some paperwork. Business plan, financial statements, proof of revenue. Not as intense as a full SBA 7(a), but not a 10-minute online application either. If you're in that revenue range and you need capital — check your options before defaulting to the fast-and-expensive route.
