Agile vs. Waterfall (ASAP) - Driving Process Improvement through the Right Delivery Approach Having led multiple SAP-based initiatives within K-Electric’s AMI domain, one of the biggest lessons has been how the choice of delivery methodology directly impacts process efficiency and improvement. ASAP (Waterfall): Traditionally, SAP implementations followed the ASAP (Accelerated SAP) methodology, a linear, phase-driven approach covering design, build, and testing in sequence. While structured and predictable, it often limits flexibility and slows down response to evolving business needs. Agile (SAP Activate): Modern transformations particularly in S/4HANA migrations and AMI (Smart Metering) process automation demand Agile (SAP Activate). This iterative approach fosters continuous feedback, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration between business and IT teams.
