On why coding with agents potentially makes the hard part of software development harder: “we still have to make good design decisions, say no to most product ideas, maintain conceptual integrity, and know when something is “done”. Agents are accelerating the “easy part” while paradoxically making the “hard part” potentially even more difficult.” Wes also echoes a sentiment shared by Boris Cherny that coding has gotten more fun because the job is more about thinking what to build, which is both and difficult. I agreee with that. Additionally, coding with agents has increased the speed at which I can iterate through ideas, trying different approaches, refining the experience.
