In Minnesota, Medicaid auto-renewal enhancements were built by leveraging an existing core technology investment to improve how renewals are processed. By extending the platform and introducing targeted automation, the state streamlined renewal workflows and strengthened operational performance, increasing their auto-renewal rate from 17% to 80%. Because the underlying system was designed to evolve, Minnesota was able to: • Enhance autorenewal functionality  • Automate key renewal processes  • Adapt to changing program and policy requirements The takeaway is clear: when the core technology backbone is flexible and well-architected, it becomes a foundation for measurable, incremental progress. Which is harder: selling software to hospitals, or driving high levels of tech adoption in hospitals? My view - Adoption is harder than Sales. The persona that buys software is different from the persona that executes and adopts tech. 🤔 Who decides software purchase? The owners (who are mostly doctors), business and tech leaders and sometimes functional heads. They have clear commercial goals or business problems that a software can solve, hence a motive for purchase can be established. The sales team needs to navigate the decision-making process at the hospitals and then you can get the deal done. 🤔 Who uses software in the hospitals? Now that's the tricky part. It is generally the operating teams - the billers, the receptionists, the nurses, the technicians, the accountants, the doctors who actually work with the software. These people may participate in the decision process (not always), however, the real grind of making the software work rests with them. Most software implementations fail to answer - what's in it for these operating teams? Not that it is impossible to implement tech at a hospital, but it gets harder due to diverse nature of stakeholders and missing the human part of the software use. 🥇 I'm now faced with both these problem statements as we get ready to bring our application - MAgnum - to the market. MAgnum intends to put hospitals in the driving seat to deliver the best-in-class Cashless claim experience and to manage their insurance revenues effortlessly. MAgnum will be used across 20k big and small hospitals. Would be amazing to work with rockstars who have a knack for selling software to hospitals/enterprises or who have seen the whole cycle of software implementation a couple of times. “Anthem” is not a cost containment strategy. 😑 I reviewed every group health plan (50–500 employees) across Indiana… and ... just....wow. 3️⃣ out of 4️⃣ companies are still offering their employees coverage from the the same two severely overpriced, claims-denying dinosaur carriers. 🦖 It’s 2026. If your broker is still bringing you the same two logos every renewal season, they’re not managing your costs… they’re managing their commissions. 💸 💡 Pro tip: In many markets, you can literally FIRE YOUR BROKER and contract directly with these two carriers to cut plan costs IMMEDIATELY. But if you want REAL, PREDICTABLE, and SUSTAINABLE cost containment, you need a modern broker who actually understands the 2026 landscape - not one still using the same spreadsheet from 2006. Indiana employers: stop rewarding legacy carriers for bad behavior.
